The Irish Tenors
Second Archive Index

The lineup presented by The Irish Tenors has always been interesting and unique.

This amazing trio is led by the strong, yet lyrical tenor, Anthony Kearns, whose broad range and exceptional vocal quality make him a Tenor to contend with! His mighty voice can be heard throughout the trio compositions and his solo presentations are impeccable. His repertoire is huge, varied, and appealing. The tenderness expressed in his traditional Irish, the power in his classics have brought him wide acclaim and admiration. With his flawless delivery, Kearns has made many "Tenor Classics" his own. His devoted fans await his solo offerings with great anticipation. Anthony is the only man of the current group always to have been a member.

Joined by the also classically trained Finbar Wright for the Belfast concert, these two magnificent voices blend to create the most beautiful harmonies one will ever experience! It almost seems as if Kearns and Wright were born to sing together, their voices blend so incredibly, and they perfectly complement one another. Finbar sings across the spectrum, as witnessed by his several successful CDs, but there is great anticipation for Wright’s Spanish numbers at Irish Tenors concerts. They are his very best and his audiences love them. His addition to the group was inspirational, and we are delighted that he has stayed on.

Grieving the sudden death of his mother, John McDermott chose to leave the group just prior to Belfast. With the departure of Ronan Tynan, it seemed natural to invite McDermott to return. John has a good following, and though everyone understood, he was missed when he left. The versatility of Balladeer McDermott will bring a different sound to the group, but one which will be noteworthy, interesting, and highly entertaining. He has a varied selection of CDs and hits which, though not classical, are Celtic and traditional. We welcome him back into the fold.

The Irish Tenors have recorded eight highly successful CDs to date, as well as three popular DVDs. The current line up has Sacred, an inspirational and spiritual CD, released in Fall of 2005 in the top 10 of Billboard's Classical Crossover Chart, as well as the possibility of a new PBS special and DVD.
